ABSTRACT

Variants of prevention efforts to break the chain of transmission of dengue fever had been carried out, but dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) was still a health problem. Controlling the causes of DHF and its risk factors by breaking the chain of infection was a preventive measure. Prevention efforts are carried out through health education via video media, direct counseling, and leaflets to increase knowledge, attitudes, and behavior for the prevention and eradication of dengue mosquito nests, with school movement in response to mosquito nest eradication. This activity was held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. Efforts to prevent and eradicate dengue must be supported by active participation from the community, including the school community, who can become agents of change in schools, families and communities. This school movement is in response to the eradicationof mosquito nests with drying, closing, burial, and monitoring that must be carried out continuously and thoroughly to prevent anderadicate dengue fever. This activity can be replicated in other schools through out Bukittinggi City to achieve a dengue-free Bukittinggi.
