ASSISTANCE OF GERMAS TO FAMILY OF TUBERCULOSIS WITH HAND WASHING WITH SOAP IN THE PUBLIC HEALTH CENTRE ANDALAS PADANG CITY

Abstract


Tuberculosis (TB) is a public health problem and global challenge, especially in developing countires including Indonesia. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. One of public health centre in Padang city has the highest number of cases of 127 cases. All patient TB no have access to public health centres and hospitals because patient feel ashamed and afraid of being known to have TB, so some hide their illness. The research Sejati et al, there was a relationship of the quality of houses (lighting, density, humidity and ventilation) that did not meet the requirements with the incidence of TB disease in the Andalas public health centre working are. Germas is a national movement thar prioritizes promotive efforts.  The role of individuals, communities and families in practicing a healthy lifestyle in order to live a quality life and avoid disease. One fom of germas activity is washing hands with soap. The method of activity is in the form of counseling and demonstration on how to wash hands with soap. The activity went smoothly, all participanst actively listened and were able to practice the  correct way of washing hand with soap.
