Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common cause of cancer after breast cancer in women. The incidence rate of cervical cancer according to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2013, was around 270,000 women with a death rate of more than 85%, especially in developing countries. Cervical cancer is in second place with 36,633 cases or 9.2% of the total cancer cases in Indonesia. Data from the Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital (RSUPN) Jakarta shows that 94% of cervical cancer patients die within 2 years. One of the factors in the high incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia is the lack of knowledge and awareness of women who feel they do not need to know the risks of cervical cancer, which is a deadly disease. Therefore, early detection is carried out to identify diseases or disorders clinically which aims to find cancer that can still be cured and to reduce morbidity and mortality due to cancer. Health promotion activities through IVA tests on Women of Childbearing Age (WUS) can be used as an alternative to find out if there is cancer that can still be cured and to reduce morbidity and mortality due to cancer in WUS. The aim of implementing community service is to detect early cervical cancer in WUS, whether there is cervical cancer or not. The method used was providing counseling, measuring height and weight and taking an IVA test on WUS for one day at Mohammad Natsir University, Bukittinggi City. As a result of this service, 27 WUS underwent IVA tests with 100% negative results for cervical cancer. The conclusion from the results of this service is that with the government program regarding IVA tests on WUS, there are no WUS who suffer from or are detected with cervical cancer.
