Abstract

Stunting is caused by multi-dimensional factors that begin early in life and before pregnancy divides the causes of stunting in children into 4 major categories, namely family and household factors which include maternal and home environmental factors, inadequate supplementary and complementary food factors, breastfeeding. and infection.

This research is a research that uses the Chi-Square Test method. The total population in this study were mothers of toddlers aged 24-59 months in 2022 as many as 551 toddlers, while the number of samples in this study used accidental sampling, so the total sample was 85 mothers of toddlers aged 24-59. The instrument used was a questionnaire about factors related to stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months.

The results showed that there was a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.004 and OR=5,156), feeding patterns (p=0,000 and OR=9,625), mother's knowledge (p=0,007 and OR=4,011), and sanitation facilities (p= 0.012 and OR=4.235) with Stunting Incidence in Toddlers Age 24-59 Months in the Working Area of the Guguk Panjang Public Health Center in 2022.

The conclusion of this study is the factors related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months, namely exclusive breastfeeding, feeding patterns, mother's knowledge, and sanitation facilities. It is hoped that the relevant Health Workers can continue to provide counseling to mothers of toddlers about how to handle and prevent stunting and also the causes of stunting in toddlers and always monitor the development and growth of toddlers to prevent stunting in children.
