Abstract

The background Occupational Safety and Health (K3) includes all conditions and factors that can affect the safety and health of workers and other people in the work environment. K3 is regulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia no. 1/1970 concerning work safety, which defines a workplace as an area, whether closed or open, moving or static, where the workforce operates. Research methods used in this study was a survey with a descriptive approach. The research location was carried out at Century Media Digital Printing, with the equipment used being a sound level meter, which is a calibrated noise level measuring device. This research involved one worker at a printing agency who used this tool.

Results measurements (table 1.0) show that the average noise level in Tool 1 is 78.33 dB, with a minimum noise level of 66 dB and a maximum of 91 dB, and a standard deviation of 12.503. Conclusion From this research, there is a high level of noise intensity in the three tools, where one of the tools (Tool 1) has a noise intensity that exceeds the Threshold Limit Value (NAB). Thus, noise levels in printing places are categorized as high, especially if they exceed 85 dB, such as those produced by printing machines, which can potentially harm workers' hearing health. Exposure to continuous noise without the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is very risky.
