DENGUE SYOK SYNDROME

Abstract


The clinical spectrum of dengue virus infection varies depending on factors that influence body resistance and factors that influence virus virulence. Thus, dengue virus infection can cause various conditions, ranging from no symptoms (asymptomatic), non-specific mild fever (undifferentiated febrile illness), Dengue Fever, or more severe forms, namely Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and Shock Syndrome. Dengue (SSD). A 19 year old male patient was reported with dengue fever and acute bleeding, vomiting blood and passing black stools, severe anemia and hypovolemic shock. The patient underwent fluid resuscitation management with close monitoring and PRC transfusion. Patients experience improvements in their general condition and regular increases in hemoglobin and platelets
