MANUSCRIPT WRITING GUIDELINES OF REAL NURSING JOURNAL

General Requirements for Manuscript Writing

Guidelines for the author of the manuscript can be described as follows.

  1. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English with single-spaced line density, Times New Roman 12 font, A4 paper size, two-column format, and last costum setting margin (top 2.54 cm; left 2.8 cm; bottom 2.54 cm; right 2 , 54 cm).
  2. Scientific manuscripts should be in the range of 6,000 - 9,000 words or approximately 10-15 pages, including accompanying pictures, graphs or tables (if any).
  3. Terms in foreign or regional languages in the text are written in italics (italic).
  4. Literature review is not included as part of the structure of the article. Thus, references that are considered important can be integrated in the introduction or in the discussion. Citation in the discussion is necessary and what is more important is the discussion of the results of data analysis that was found by itself.
  5. Manuscripts are sent via submit on the website: ojs.fdk.ac.id after going through the registration process (register) and logging in on the website above. For those who do not submit via www.ojs.fdk.ac.id, it cannot be processed by the OJS Real Nursing Journal system
  6. The submitted manuscripts will be selected by the system and will be forwarded to reviewers (sustainable partners) in accordance with the article field.
  7. Manuscripts that have been reviewed by reviewers (bebestari partners) will be returned to the author if improvements are needed according to the reviewer. After the authors make improvements in accordance with the reviewers' input and assessment, they are sent back by the author.
  8. Manuscripts that have been revised by the author will be reviewed by partners bebestari, if the bebestari partner recommends that they are fit for publication, the manuscript will be published online. If the Bebestari partner states that improvements are still needed, the manuscript will be sent back to the author for revision again.

 

Structure of Scientific Articles

In general, the structure of scientific articles from field research results and conceptual research scientific articles is relatively the same. The structure of the scientific articles of research results consists of 10 main parts, namely: (1) title; (2) line of ownership; (3) abstract; (4) keywords; (5) introduction; (6) method; (7) results and discussion; (8) conclusion; (9) thanks and (10) bibliography. The structure of the conceptual research scientific articles is divided into 9 main parts, namely: (1) title; (2) line of ownership; (3) abstract; (4) keywords; (5) introduction; (6) discussion; (7) conclusion; (8) thanks and (9) bibliography. Each section is given an explanation as follows.

a) Title

  1. The title should be concise and informative, with no more than 12 words, including the liaison. So that the title can be short and concise in 12 words, avoid conjunctions and mentioning objects, places or research materials that are very detailed.
  2. The title contains the key words of the topic under study.
  3. Times New Roman, 14, Bold, Kapital fonts with single line spacing.
  4. Title in Indonesian or English, according to the language used in the manuscript.
  5. Avoid using abbreviations, formulas and references.

b) Authorship lines

  1. The author's institutional affiliation follows the place where the person concerned works.
  2. The names of the authors should only be those who actually participated in the planning, implementation, analysis of the results, discussion, and report writing.
  3. It is not necessary to mention academic / functional positions or graduate degrees.
  4. The name of the institution is written in full up to the name of the country, written below the author's name along with postal, email and facsimile addresses (if any) for correspondence purposes.
  5. If the author is more than one person and comes from different institutions, then all addresses are listed by giving a superscript lowercase letter starting from a at the back of the author's name sequentially.
  6. The name of the correspondence author is marked with an asterisk (*).
  7. Author's name Times New Roman, 12, Bold, cannot be abbreviated
  8. The title contains the key words of the topic under study.

  10. Title in Indonesian or English, according to the language used in the manuscript.
  11. Avoid using abbreviations, formulas and references.

c) Abstract

  1. Abstracts are written briefly and factually, covering key issues, main findings, novelty, recommendations for future research, research methods, results and conclusions.
  2. Abstract written in one paragraph; written in two languages (Indonesian and English); Abstract lengths ranging from no more than 200 words written in one paragraph.
  3. Avoid referrals and use of unusual abbreviations.

d) Keywords

  1. Keywords consist of 3 to 5 words and / or word groups.
  2. Written in alphabetical order.
  3. Between keywords separated by semicolons (;).
  4. Avoid lots of conjunctions (and, with, ones and so on).

e) Introduction

  1. Avoid the sub-sections in the introduction.
  2. The introduction should contain background problems, problems and research objectives.
  3. The percentage of the introductory page length is 10-15% of the total length of a manuscript.
  4. References are indicated by writing the author's surname / last name and year of publication, without page numbers. The theoretical basis is displayed in complete, concise, and completely relevant sentences for the purpose of writing scientific articles.

f) Research Method

1.  Briefly inform the material and methods used in the study, including the subject / material studied, the tools used, the experimental design or design used, the sampling technique, the variables to be measured, the data collection techniques, analysis and statistical models used.
2.  Avoid over writing statistical formulas.
3.  If using a well-known method, only state the name of the method. If necessary, state the reference source used as a reference.
4.  For qualitative research, the research method can adjust.

 

g) Result and Discussion

1.      The format of the research and discussion results is not separated, given the limited number of pages available to authors.
2.      The research results can be presented with the support of tables, graphs or pictures as needed, to clarify the verbal presentation of the results.
3.      Titles of tables and graphs or captions of pictures are arranged in a concise phrase (not sentence).
4.      The caption of the picture / graph is placed under the picture / graph, while the title of the table is placed on it. Titles start with a capital letter.
5.      Do not repeat writing the numbers that have been listed in the table in the text of the discussion. If you want to suppress the results obtained, you should present it in other forms, for example, percentage or difference. To show the numbers in question, just refer to the table that contains the numbers.
6.      In general, international journals do not want statistical languages (such as: different, treatment, etc.) written in the discussion. Avoid copying and pasting tables of statistical analysis results directly from statistical data processing software.
7.      The discussion material mainly explores whether the results obtained are in accordance with the hypothesis or not, and present the arguments.
8.      Citation references in the discussion should not be too long (if necessary avoided).
9.      Citations of research results or other people's opinions should be summarized and written in their own sentences (not using the same sentence).
10.    A collection of similar studies can be referenced as a group.

h) Conclusion

1.  Conclusions should be the answer to the research question, and not expressed in statistical sentences.
2.  Written in one paragraph in essay form, not in numerical form.

i)  Acknowledgments

1.  Acknowledgments are generally placed after the conclusion.
2.  Contains gratitude to funding agencies and / or individuals who have assisted in conducting research and writing the manuscript.

 

j) References

General provisions for writing bibliography:

 

1.  The referral system and bibliography must use the Mendeley program (www.mendeley.com), End Note (www.endnote.com), which uses the APA system (Association Psychology of America)
2.  For research articles, bibliography is referenced from about 10-15 scientific journal articles.
3.  The update of the referred scientific journal must be considered, at least as a result of the relevant publications in the last 10 years.
4.  Bibliography is arranged alphabetically based on the alphabetical order of the author's name.
5.  Author name: the name displayed is the last name (surname) of the author followed by the initial (and middle) abbreviation if any. If the author is more than one person, then the writing method is the same.
6.  Writing a reference title begins with a capital letter only at the beginning of the sentence.
7.  Every writing of the name, year, article title and so on ends with a period (.) Before continuing the next word. Especially for writing the volume (number) of the journal, it is marked with a colon (:) without space. Writing examples can be seen in the explanation of each type of literature worthy of reference.
8.  The manuscript should refer to or cite one or more Human Care Journal articles.
9.  References used are at least 80% of primary sources and publications of the last 5 (five) years.
